Techniques and Approaches

In the allotment, techniques are used that are applied in poly- and permaculture the world over. Our aims are to simultaneously learn to apply these techniques, test the effectiveness and efficacy in our local setting, and create a location where knowledge grows and is shared. The techniques and approaches are:

  • Synergistic Gardening ; Emilia Hazelip – raised beds with ‘wild’ soil
  • Forest Gardening
  • Perennial vegetables
  • Companion planting
  • No -dig
  • Soil remediation and carbon storage
  • Minimising water use
  • High species diversity
